The man has a moral compass, but points in the direction of pure, untarnished power! Let's just say his past comes back to haunt him in a major way. Don't you just love it when that happens?

Haydée: A Woman of Mystery and Vengeance

And let’s not forget the enigmatic Haydée. She's rescued by the Count, and is a woman of great beauty and a haunted past. And she also has an axe to grind with, oh, just a few of the Count's enemies. She adds another layer of complexity to the whole revenge plot, and honestly, she’s just plain cool. She is as loyal as they come, and one of the few people who can see through the Count’s facade.

Spoiler Alert: Haydée and the Count end up sailing off into the sunset together. (After delivering justice, of course!)
