Eren Yeager Colossal Titan

Eren Yeager Colossal Titan

Okay, let's talk about something a little...controversial. Something that might make the Attack on Titan purists clutch their pearls. Are you ready? Good. Because I’m about to say it: Eren Yeager, as the Colossal Titan, was...kind of a letdown.

I know, I know! Gasps all around! But hear me out. We'd seen the OG Colossal Titan, Bertolt, cause absolute chaos. He was HUGE. Imposing. The very definition of "oh no, we're all gonna die." He kicked down walls like they were made of papier-mâché. The steam! The drama! It was a spectacle.

Then, Eren gets the power. And...well, he gets big. He's definitely a Colossal Titan, technically. But did anyone else feel like he was missing something? Like he’d ordered the "Colossal Titan Value Meal" but forgot to supersize it?

I’m not saying he wasn’t powerful. He was. He wrecked Marley pretty good. But compared to Bertolt, he felt…different. Less…Colossal, maybe?

Maybe it's because we were used to Eren being this scrappy, determined underdog. Seeing him transform into this gigantic being felt…off. He was suddenly playing in a different league. It's like watching your little brother suddenly become a professional basketball player. You're happy for him, but it's also a little weird.

Also, let's be real. The whole "skeletal Colossal Titan" thing? A bold choice. An interesting design. But was it…practical? He was literally burning fuel like a Hummer in a demolition derby. Every panel featuring him felt like a ticking clock, counting down to when he’d inevitably run out of steam (pun intended, of course).

Think about it. Bertolt’s transformation was a tactical nuke. Eren's felt more like a…slightly oversized firecracker. A very destructive firecracker, sure, but still. Did anyone else feel like they were constantly yelling at the screen, “Eren, conserve your energy! You’re gonna pass out again!”?

And the face! Bertolt had that almost blank, terrifying stare. Eren? He looked perpetually constipated. Sorry, Eren! But it's true. Maybe all that world-ending angst gave him indigestion?

It’s not that Eren wasn’t a good villain, or a compelling character. He absolutely was. But the Colossal Titan form just didn’t quite fit him. It felt like he was wearing a costume that was slightly too big, and he kept tripping over the hems.

Let’s not forget the sheer comedic potential of a skeletal giant. Imagine him trying to pick up a dropped phone. Or attempting to eat a sandwich. The existential dread AND the slapstick comedy! A missed opportunity, I say!

Maybe the story needed him to be that way. Maybe it was all part of some grand, symbolic narrative about the futility of power and the burden of choice. Or maybe, just maybe, I'm completely wrong. And that’s okay! This is just my silly opinion.

But I stand by it. Eren's Colossal Titan form, while visually impressive, just didn't quite capture the same terrifying majesty as its predecessor. It was like ordering a pizza and getting a calzone. Similar ingredients, but a fundamentally different experience.

So, what do you think? Am I completely off my rocker? Or did you feel the same way? Let me know in the comments! And please, be gentle. Remember, we're all just trying to survive the rumbling…of opinions!
