Fairy Tail Season 1 Episode 50 English Dub
Okay, let’s talk Fairy Tail! Specifically, Season 1, Episode 50. "Special Request: Watch Out for the Guy You Like!" Sound juicy? Oh, it is.
Operation: Find Lucy a Boyfriend
Seriously, that’s practically the main plot. Natsu, Gray, Erza, and… well, everyone, basically, decides Lucy needs a boyfriend. Because saving the world isn't enough; she needs romance! It's all very well-intentioned, of course. Hilariously misguided, definitely.
Think of it as a magical dating agency. Run by people who are terrible at dating. What could possibly go wrong?
Must Read
Spoiler: Everything goes wrong. Gloriously.
The Potential Suitors: A Rogues' Gallery
The episode introduces us to a few "potential" suitors. And by potential, I mean completely unsuitable in the most comedic ways possible.
First, there's the creepy noble. Need I say more? He’s got that whole villain vibe going strong. He is a major red flag.
Then we have some other, equally... interesting choices. They aren’t exactly prince charming types. Let's just say Lucy's got her work cut out for her. Or rather, her friends do, and they completely mess it up.

Quick fact: This episode really showcases Fairy Tail's love for over-the-top characters. They're not subtle. And that's why we love them!
Natsu's "Helpful" Advice
Natsu's attempts to help Lucy are comedy gold. He doesn’t understand romance at all. At all! He thinks punching things and eating a lot is the way to impress a girl. Bless his heart.
He even tries to “fight” the creepy noble to win Lucy’s affection. This is Natsu logic at its finest. Because nothing says "I like you" like a good old-fashioned brawl. Right?
Fun fact: Natsu is basically a giant, adorable, fire-breathing puppy. Who occasionally saves the world. And gives terrible relationship advice.

Erza: Queen of Tough Love (and Cake)
Erza, of course, is all about tough love. And cake. Always cake. She tries to give Lucy advice, but it usually involves some sort of training regimen. Or a stern talking-to.
She thinks Lucy needs to be stronger and more independent to attract the right guy. Which… isn't wrong. But maybe a little intense for a first date.
Did you know? Erza could probably intimidate an entire army into submission. And then demand cake as her reward. She’s a legend.
Gray's…Contribution?
Gray's contribution to the "Operation: Get Lucy a Boyfriend" plan is mostly just taking his clothes off. As usual. It's his thing. We’ve accepted it. At least Juvia has.

He does offer some… “insight” on what guys might like. Which is mostly just a thinly veiled excuse to stand around shirtless. Classic Gray.
Quirky detail: How does Gray not freeze to death? It's one of life’s great mysteries. Maybe magic. Maybe sheer stubbornness.
The English Dub: Cracking Jokes and Great Voices
The English dub of this episode is fantastic. The voice actors really nail the comedic timing and over-the-top personalities of the characters. The delivery of the lines is spot-on.
Especially Natsu's cluelessness. It's perfect. You can practically hear the wheels turning (or not turning) in his head.

The dub also adds its own little jokes and nuances, making the episode even funnier. It’s definitely worth watching (or re-watching) in English.
Why This Episode Rocks
This episode is a perfect example of what makes Fairy Tail so enjoyable. It’s got action, humor, heart, and a whole lot of ridiculousness.
It reminds us that even the strongest wizards have their flaws. And that friendship is the most important magic of all. Even if that friendship involves trying to set you up with a creepy noble.
It’s lighthearted, fun, and doesn't take itself too seriously. In short, it’s pure Fairy Tail magic. So, if you're looking for a good laugh, check out Season 1, Episode 50. You won't regret it.
Plus, you get to see Natsu try to be a matchmaker. Need I say more?
