Ffxiv Post Shadowbringers Quests

Okay, so you finished Shadowbringers. Pats you on the back. Congrats! You saved the First, became a Warrior of Darkness (or maybe still Light? Confusing!), and generally kicked butt. But wait! The story doesn't just... end there, right? Of course not! This is FFXIV we're talking about. They wouldn't leave us hanging. So, let's chat about those post-Shadowbringers quests, shall we? Grab your (virtual) coffee!
The Lead-Up: 5.1 - 5.55, or "The Calm Before the Endwalker Storm"
Think of these quests as like... a really elaborate epilogue. You're tying up loose ends, preparing for the next big thing, and generally just chilling with your favorite Scions. Except, "chilling" in FFXIV usually involves fighting something, doesn't it?
Remember the whole deal with Emet-Selch's grand plan? Yeah, that's still kind of hanging over everything. We’re dealing with the fallout of his actions and, you know, trying to make sure the Source doesn't implode. No pressure!
Must Read
One of the coolest parts, in my opinion, is the focus on the Crystal Tower. If you're a FFIII fan (or even just a fan of cool-looking dungeons), you're gonna love this. We delve deeper into its mysteries, meet some interesting new characters (and some familiar ones!), and generally get a lot more lore about the Allagans. Did they really think using Primals as power sources was a good idea? Seriously?
Then there's the whole thing with the Warriors of Darkness from the other shards. We helped them, right? But what happens to them after? This storyline is surprisingly emotional, and it really makes you think about the consequences of your actions (and Emet-Selch’s... well, everything!).

And who could forget the Sorrow of Werlyt? Oh boy. Time to face Gaius van Baelsar, or should I say... the Shadowhunter! We get to see a different side of him, and the whole storyline with the Weapon series is just pure mecha goodness. Giant robots battling it out? Yes, please!
Key Things to Remember (aka Why You Should Bother)
Lore, lore, and more lore! Seriously, these quests are packed with it. If you're a lore junkie like me, you'll be in heaven. You'll understand the world of FFXIV on a whole new level. Every little detail matters!

Character Development: The Scions are more than just quest givers, right? We see them grow, struggle, and deal with the emotional fallout of everything that happened in Shadowbringers. Alphinaud and Alisaie, in particular, have some really great moments. Get ready to feel some feels!
Setting the Stage for Endwalker: Okay, this is the big one. These quests are essential for understanding what's going on in Endwalker. They introduce key concepts, characters, and plot threads that become super important later on. You don't want to go into Endwalker completely clueless, do you?

Is It Worth It? (Spoiler Alert: Yes!)
Look, I know some people found these quests a little slow. But honestly, I loved them. They're like a good, slow-burn novel that takes its time to develop the characters and the world. Plus, they're absolutely crucial for understanding the story going forward. So, buckle up, grab your favorite mount, and get ready to dive back into Eorzea (and the First, and maybe a few other places!). You won't regret it!
Seriously, they give important context to characters you'll meet in Endwalker, specifically the Garleans. We can't just write them off as mustache-twirling bad guys anymore after we see them struggling to build new lives without their empire.
So what are you waiting for? Go forth and conquer! And maybe bring a friend...some of those fights are tough!
