Halo Infinite Ravager Sucks
Okay, let's be real. We need to talk about the Ravager in Halo Infinite. Remember when you first saw it? You probably thought, "Whoa, that looks like a serious piece of alien tech! Finally, something that's gonna mess up some grunts!" Yeah, me too. We were so innocent.
Fast forward to actually using it. Oh, the disappointment! It's like getting socks for your birthday. You appreciate the thought, but deep down, you just wanted that new Xbox. The Ravager is the gaming equivalent of socks. It's… there. It exists. But does it bring you joy? Does it make you feel like a super soldier? Nope.
The Ravager: A Love-Hate (Mostly Hate) Relationship
The problem isn't the design, okay? It LOOKS cool. It's got that whole brutal, alien aesthetic down pat. But then you fire it. And it's like… pshhhh. You shoot a glob of plasma that travels slower than your grandma walking to Bingo night. By the time it reaches your target, they've already had time to write a strongly worded letter to 343 Industries about weapon balance. Seriously.

Plasma Pools of Disappointment
And those plasma pools it leaves behind? Don't even get me started. The idea is neat! Area denial! Control the battlefield! In reality, it's more like… mildly inconveniencing the enemy. They might, might, take a sliver of damage. Or, more likely, they’ll just stroll right through it like it’s a warm puddle on a summer day. I’ve seen grunts more afraid of a gentle breeze.
I swear, sometimes I think the plasma pools are more dangerous to me. I’ll be trying to make a daring escape, jump over the puddle, and BAM! I clip the edge and end up taking damage from my own freaking weapon. It's the ultimate betrayal. It's like your toaster turning against you and burning your bread just because it can.

"The Ravager? It's less a weapon, more a... spicy inconvenience." - Totally Random Spartan Opinion
And let's not forget the damage output. Or, rather, the lack thereof. You can unload an entire magazine into an unshielded elite and they'll just stand there, looking mildly annoyed, like you're trying to swat a fly with a feather duster. I've had more success killing enemies with a well-placed sneeze.
Alternatives? Please!
The worst part is, there are so many better options! Need to take out a group of enemies? Grab a Frag Grenade! Want to control an area? The Disruptor is way more effective. Need to do actual damage? Pretty much anything else in the game works better. The Ravager feels like it was designed to make you appreciate all the other weapons in Halo Infinite. It's the ultimate benchmark of mediocrity.

I'm not saying it's completely useless. I'm sure there's some obscure situation where the Ravager is the perfect choice. Maybe if you’re fighting a blind grunt who's allergic to the color purple and standing in a puddle of gasoline? But in 99.9% of scenarios, you're better off throwing it at your enemy. It might actually do more damage that way. At least it will be funny.
So, next time you see a Ravager on the battlefield, do yourself a favor. Leave it there. Pick up a pistol. Throw a grenade. Do literally anything else. Your K/D ratio will thank you.
Ultimately, the Ravager is a reminder that not every weapon can be a winner. Sometimes, you just get stuck with a plasma-spewing, mildly inconveniencing, puddle-creating disappointment. But hey, at least it looks cool… right?
