Happy Easter From My Family To Yours

Hey friend! Just wanted to pop in and say…Happy Easter! Can you believe it's already here? Seems like just yesterday we were shoveling snow (okay, maybe not YOU, lucky duck if you live somewhere warm!), and now we're hiding eggs. Time flies when you're…well, you know…living life!

From my crazy crew to yours, I'm sending all the good vibes, chocolate bunnies, and sunshine-y feelings your way. And maybe a little bit of peace and quiet? (Is that even allowed on Easter?)

Easter at Our Place: A Comedy of Errors (and Eggs)

So, our Easter is always…an experience. Let's just say Pinterest-perfect isn't exactly in our vocabulary. We aim for "charmingly chaotic," which is basically code for "someone's probably going to cry, and the dog will definitely steal a marshmallow peep."

The Egg Hunt: Think less meticulously planned, more frantically throwing eggs around the yard while simultaneously yelling, "Don't eat the grass! That's not candy!" You know, the usual.

And inevitably, at least three eggs will remain hidden until July. Found them last year! Stinky surprise! Good times.

The Food: Ham. Always ham. It's a tradition! But this year, I'm attempting to be a fancy ham cooker. Wish me luck! Last year, it came out looking suspiciously like a…well, let's just say it wasn't photo-worthy. I think the dog enjoyed it, though.

We also have deviled eggs (duh!), some kind of potato dish (because carbs are life!), and a veggie tray that will remain mostly untouched. Except for the ranch dip. That disappears faster than you can say "chocolate bunny."

The Outfits: Easter outfits! Oh, the pressure! I always start with grand plans of coordinated pastel ensembles. And then reality hits. Someone spills something. Someone refuses to wear the frilly dress. Someone’s shoes are mysteriously missing. So, yeah, coordinated chaos. It's our brand.

Why Easter Matters (Besides the Candy)

Okay, okay, so the candy is a definite perk. I won’t lie! But Easter is about so much more than just chocolate and egg hunts, right? It's about family, connection, and celebrating the amazing story of hope and new beginnings.

It's a chance to slow down, put away the phones (easier said than done, I know!), and actually talk to each other. To remember what's important. To appreciate the simple things, like a sunny day or a kid’s sticky smile.

And let's be honest, it's a good excuse to eat a ridiculous amount of chocolate without feeling too guilty. Don't judge me! You know you're doing it too!

This year, I’m trying to focus on being present. On actually enjoying the chaos, even the part where someone inevitably gets a chocolate stain on their new clothes. Because those are the memories that will last, right? Not the perfectly staged photos (though, I'll probably still try to get one!).
