The Unpopular Opinion: The Witcher 3 IS In Spanish (Sort Of)

Okay, hear me out. Before you grab your pitchforks and torches, let's chat. We all love The Witcher 3, right?

Amazing story, incredible world, Geralt's grumpy charm... what's not to love? But here's a thought that's been brewing in my head for ages.

¡Hola, Geralt!

Isn't The Witcher 3, in a way, already in Spanish? Now, I'm not talking about the language setting in the options menu.

I'm talking about something deeper, something more... spiritual. I'm talking about the heart of the game.

Think about it. The drama! The passion! The near-constant shouting! Doesn't that scream "Spanish telenovela" to anyone else?

Maybe it's just me. But I swear, sometimes I expect Geralt to burst into a dramatic monologue in perfect Castellano.

The Passion of Yennefer

Consider Yennefer. Oh, Yennefer! A powerful sorceress, fiercely independent, and prone to fits of jealousy.

Tell me that doesn't sound like the protagonist of a Spanish drama! She's practically begging to be played by Penélope Cruz.

And the romance! The angst! The will-they-won't-they dance between Geralt and Yennefer (or Triss, if you're into that). It's pure fire!

Monsters and Melodrama

Let's not forget the monsters. Sure, they're terrifying and grotesque. But they also have a flair for the dramatic!

A griffin swooping down with a dramatic roar? A leshen silently stalking through the woods with an air of mystery? It's all so over-the-top!

And what about the villages ravaged by war? The political intrigue? The backstabbing and betrayals? Come on, that's prime telenovela material!

Subtitle This!

I know, I know. It's not actually in Spanish. You still need the subtitles (or the audio option, if you prefer).

But I maintain that the essence of The Witcher 3 is deeply rooted in Spanish storytelling traditions. Passion, drama, and a whole lot of yelling.

Don't even get me started on the music. Some of those tracks could easily be remixed into a flamenco version.

Unpopular Opinion Alert!

Okay, I'm prepared for the backlash. I know this is a bit of a stretch. Maybe I've been playing too much The Witcher 3 lately.

But I can't shake this feeling that there's a hidden Spanish soul within the game. A fiery, dramatic spirit just waiting to be unleashed.

So, next time you're playing, close your eyes for a moment. Imagine Geralt speaking in Spanish. See if it doesn't feel... right.

A Twist Ending?

Maybe I'm onto something. Maybe the developers secretly drew inspiration from Spanish literature and folklore.

Maybe CD Projekt Red is planning a surprise Spanish-language expansion. Imagine Geralt battling conquistadors instead of monsters!

Okay, that's probably too much. But a girl can dream, right?

De Nada, Witcher

So, there you have it. My (probably) insane theory about The Witcher 3 being secretly Spanish.

I know it's a wild idea. But sometimes, the best games are the ones that surprise you. And maybe, just maybe, The Witcher 3 is more surprising than we think.

Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm going to go play some more Witcher 3... with a side of tapas. And maybe a little bit of flamenco music in the background. Just to really embrace the Spanish spirit.

The Verdict?

Ultimately, while you need to select Spanish in the setting or purchase a Spanish version to get the full Spanish experience, I still maintain that The Witcher 3's heart has a bit of Spanish flair.

Deal with it. Or don't! I still love this game.

Now I'm off to play Gwent with my Abuela!
