He's instantly smarter, stronger, and more charming than pretty much everyone around him. Is there even any room for actual growth when you're already practically a superhero at age five?

I get it, it's a fantasy story. But still, give the guy a weakness! Maybe he's allergic to puppies or something. Just a little imperfection to make him feel more, you know, human (or elf, or whatever he is now).

And don't even get me started on his proficiency with magic. He's like the Hermione Granger of the webtoon world, except instead of studying, he just casually absorbs ancient knowledge from random artifacts. Lucky him!

The Harem Factor: A Little Too Predictable?

Another thing: the inevitable harem. Look, I'm not judging. But it's almost a fantasy trope at this point. Powerful, handsome protagonist? Check. Adorable girls falling head over heels for him? Double check.

Sylvie is cute, no question. But does she really need to be so devoted? And what about Tessia? She's a sweet character, but sometimes I wish she had more going on besides being Arthur's childhood friend/future love interest.

I know, I know, it's part of the appeal for some people. But personally, I'm more interested in seeing Arthur develop meaningful relationships based on something other than just his overwhelming awesomeness.

Let's be real, the power levels in The Beginning After The End are constantly escalating. It's like a Dragon Ball Z episode where everyone just keeps getting stronger and stronger. At some point, it stops being impressive and just becomes...expected.

Arthur goes from struggling to lift a rock to casually obliterating entire armies in the blink of an eye. Where's the tension? Where's the sense of accomplishment when he's basically a god among mortals?

Unpopular Opinion: Maybe a little bit of nerfing would actually be good for the story. Just a thought.

Don't Get Me Wrong, It's Still Good!

Despite my gripes, I'm still reading The Beginning After The End. The art is gorgeous, the world-building is intriguing, and the action sequences are undeniably epic. The side characters, like Regis, are genuinely funny and add a lot to the overall experience.

And yes, even Arthur has his moments. He can be surprisingly compassionate and selfless. But sometimes, I just wish the story would dial back the protagonist-centered narrative a little bit and let the other characters shine.
