My Instagram feed transformed from showcasing brunch photos to showcasing pictures of slightly-overripe tomatoes and basil plants. I became The Accidental Gardener, and I wouldn't trade it for anything.

Of course, this phenomenon isn't limited to hobbies and activities. It often happens with people too. Remember that colleague you initially dismissed as "too serious" or "too quirky?" The one you only interacted with out of professional necessity? And then, after a few shared projects, a few late-night brainstorming sessions, and a few unexpected laughs, you realize that they are actually pretty awesome. Maybe even… someone you genuinely enjoy being around.

Or what about that first date you went on just to appease your well-meaning friend? The one where you mentally prepared yourself for awkward silences and forced conversation? But then you ended up laughing until your sides hurt, discovering a shared love of 80s movies, and realizing that maybe, just maybe, this could be something special. The "Oh, they're actually great!" revelation is one of life's sweetest surprises.
