In its place, we have other means of lighting up dark spaces, like just having a naturally lit area, or a Key Item that does the trick. It's all much less... chaotic, if you ask me.

Think about it! Remember those frustrating moments of realizing your team was completely Flash-less? Yeah, game design improved, but we definitely lost something special. That desperate scramble back to town to teach Flash to literally anyone who could learn it, just to progress? Pure, unadulterated Pokemon chaos!
