Okay, let's talk about something…spicy. Who’s winning between Russia and Ukraine? This question is everywhere. And everyone seems to have a REALLY strong opinion.

Is there actually a "winner" here?

Seriously, think about it. Wars aren't exactly like football games. There are no clear winners and losers...usually.

It's less "victory dance" and more "everyone limping off the field."

So, who seems to be winning, according to…me?

Well, from where I'm sitting (on my couch, surrounded by half-eaten snacks), it's complicated. Very complicated.

Russia? They started the whole thing. They have… well, a lot of stuff. But stuff doesn't always equal "winning."

Ukraine? They are fighting like absolute legends. Seriously, their resilience is mind-blowing.

But being tough doesn't automatically mean a parade.

I think...wait for it... the "winner" is…neither of them. Hear me out!

Both countries are suffering immensely. Both are experiencing unimaginable loss. That's just not win-win.

Why I Think Both Sides Are "Losing"

Think about it like this: it is like two kids fighting over a toy. They both end up breaking it.

Now no one gets to play with the cool toy. See? Everyone loses.

Russia might gain some territory. But at what cost? Sanctions, international condemnation, and, well, a lot of upset people.

Ukraine is defending their homeland. An amazing feat, truly! But they are facing destruction and displacement on a scale that is truly heartbreaking.

Plus, the global economy is feeling the pinch. Gas prices? Inflation? Thanks, guys!

The Real Winners (Maybe?)

If I had to pick some "winners," they'd be the defense contractors. Seriously. Business is booming for them.

I am being sarcastic, obviously. It is hardly a victory when tragedy happens for many people.

Perhaps, also Poland, which has shown a remarkable ability to help Ukranian refugees.

The Takeaway (In Case You're Still Confused)

War is messy. War is awful. And war rarely has a clear "winner."

It's more like a giant, muddy, depressing stalemate where everyone gets covered in grime and regret.

So, next time someone asks you who’s winning Russia vs. Ukraine? Just shrug and say, "Everyone's losing, buddy. Everyone's losing."

Or you can just change the subject. Talking about puppies is always a safer bet.

A Plea for Sanity (and Puppies)

Can we all just agree that war is bad? And maybe, just maybe, try to find a way to stop it?

I know, I know. I am being naive. But a girl can dream, right?

In the meantime, I'm gonna go watch some puppy videos. My therapist says it's good for my mental health.
